Composing Near-Optimal Expert Teams: A Trade-Off between Skills and Connectivity
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rapidly changing business requirements necessitate the adhoc composition of expert teams to handle complex business cases. Expert-centric properties such as skills, however, are insufficient to assemble an effective team. The given interaction structure determines to a large degree how well the experts can be expected to collaborate. This paper addresses the team composition problem which consists of expert interaction network extraction, skill profile creation, and ultimately team formation. We provide a heuristic for finding near-optimal teams that yield the best trade-off between skill coverage and team connectivity. Finally, we apply a real-world data set to demonstrate the applicability and benefits of our approach.

Modeling the Trade-off between Manufacturing Cell Design and Supply Chain Design
Nowadays, we are witnessing the growth of firms that distribute the production capacity of their products to a wide geographic range to supply the demand of several markets. In this article, the relationships and interactions between cell design and supply chain design are investigated. For this purpose, a novel integrated model is presented for designing dynamic cellular manufacturing systems ...

Privacy-preserving electricity markets have a key role in steering customers towards participation in local electricity markets by guarantying to protect their sensitive information. Moreover, these markets make it possible to statically release and share the market outputs for social good. This paper aims to design a market for local energy communities by implementing Differential Privacy (DP)...
متن کاملAn integrated approach to achieving optimal design of computer games
In a time-to-market environment, designers may not be able to incorporate all the design features in a computer game. For each feature, there are several levels of implementation, which is corresponded to different levels of benefit as well as cost. Therefore, a trade-off decision for determining appropriate levels of implementation is very important, yet has been rarely studied in literature. ...
متن کاملFeatures of spatial and functional segregation and integration of the primate connectome revealed by trade-off between wiring cost and efficiency
The primate connectome, possessing a characteristic global topology and specific regional connectivity profiles, is well organized to support both segregated and integrated brain function. However, the organization mechanisms shaping the characteristic connectivity and its relationship to functional requirements remain unclear. The primate brain connectome is shaped by metabolic economy as well...
متن کاملRetailer’s optimal credit period and cycle time in a supply chain for deteriorating items with up-stream and down-stream trade credits
In practice, the supplier often offers the retailers a trade credit period M and the retailer in turn provides a trade credit period N to her/his customer to stimulate sales and reduce inventory. From the retailer’s perspective, granting trade credit not only increases sales and revenue but also increases opportunity cost (i.e., the capital opportunity loss during credit period) and defau...
